Riding Lesson FAQ

What do I need/does my child need to wear for riding?

All riders must come with closed toed shoes. It is advisable for safety purposes that boots with a 10cm heel are worn- gumboots are perfect! Please bring a certified riding helmet, our selection of loaner helmets is limited. Long pants are preferable for comfort. Dress for the weather, we will be riding outside!

What time should I arrive for my lesson?

Unless you have been informed otherwise, please arrive at your lesson time.

After lessons, riders are expected to cool out, groom and put away their horse and their tack. Please budget at least 30 minutes for this. If you had help tacking up, you will have help putting your horse away too!

What if it’s raining, or I have another reason I want to cancel?

We are a very busy program these days! If you have booked a time and cannot give at least 48 hours notice that you will not be present, we cannot give that timeslot to someone else who has been waiting for lessons. For this reason, pre-paid lessons cancelled without substantial notice will not be refunded or made up. Lessons will be cancelled (and arrangements made) during unsafe weather and poor driving conditions, and we are understanding of unforseen emergencies.

When do I pay?

For single lessons, payment can be made on the day of the riding lesson by cash or bank transfer.

For riders purchasing a monthly lesson package, payment of the entire package fee is due on the 1st of the month.
